Los Angeles Council of Ski Clubs (LAC) covers approximately 25 ski and snowboard clubs in the Los Angeles basin. LAC is one of twelve councils within Far West Ski Association, (FWSA), encompassing Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. We are a Charter Member of the National Ski Council Federation.
Most clubs are year-round with a plethora of activities! Look for a club in your area and join. The clubs in LA Council are listed alphabetically and include their area of town. Links to the club website are provided for further information regarding that club. As an LA Council ski club member, you can participate in all aspects of both LA Council and Far West Ski Association. This includes ski trips, summer volleyball and softball, and amateur racing. Individual member benefits are provided from time to time.

We are associated with the Far West Ski Association and the National Ski Council Federation. These organizations offer discounts to club members on many items and services such as helmets, goggles, ski purchase, outdoor sporting gear, ski rental, car rental, resort stay and more!

Far West Ski Association (FWSA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization with emphasis on skier safety, ski travel, ski area development, communications, club programs and family ski involvement. Since our beginning in 1930, FWSA has made its purpose to develop and provide benefits for all affiliated clubs and members. In doing so, the Association has benefited all skiers. We welcome all snow sport enthusiasts, young and old.

FWSA encourages participation in all snow sports, as well as providing numerous other activities. We encourage involvement in your local ski club and Council. Ski Clubs provide an opportunity for finding friends who share the same interests. Most ski clubs have active, year-round recreational and social events, including numerous ski trips, water skiing, river rafting, roller blading, potlucks, dinners, cruises, theater, service auctions, diving, biking, car rally, mystery trips, building sand castles, wine touring, camping and nearly any other activity you can name! If you want to join with other active, social people and get discounted rates for your favorite event, a ski club is the place to find it!.
Far West Ski Association is one of the country’s largest ski associations. Nine active councils represent more than 50,000 skiers and boarders in more than 150 clubs in twelve states— Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Through your ski club and Council or as a direct member, you may participate in FWSA activities. Each year FWSA provides several trips to domestic and international locations, ski and board racing for adults and juniors, and other recreational activities. Members also have an opportunity to attend the annual Convention and Silent Auction to bid on ski vacations and products.
Far West Ski Association invites you and your family to join us. Whether you are an alpine or Nordic skier, prefer to cut air on your board, or just want to enjoy the atmosphere, look for a club near you. You will be glad you did!
